Hubbard Woods Cub Scouts - Pack 21
Winnetka, Illinois
WELCOME LETTER
Pack 21 welcomes you and your family to Cub Scouting at Hubbard Woods. The Pack is run by parents who have volunteered their time and energy to bring the Cub Scouting program to the Hubbard Woods boys.
We work towards teaching the boys about the surrounding world through activity badges and achievements that are part of the Cub Scout Trail program. First graders are Tiger Cub Scouts. They explore 17 Big Ideas with their adult partner to Search, Discover, and Share what they learn through the Tiger book. The 2nd graders are exploring the world and earning their rank as a Wolf in the Cub Scouting program. 3rd graders preparing for Webelos earn the Bear rank. Boys in the 4th and 5th grade are being prepared for Boy Scouts through the Webelos program. Dens consist of boys of the same age.
The Pack is comprised of all the different age group dens. Most dens meet twice a month for about an hour. Several times a year, all the dens and their families get together at a Pack meeting to receive the awards they have been working on. The Pack meetings also have activities that promote good citizenship and are loaded with fun. Pack 21 also has a number of other fun activities throughout the school year - campouts, the pinewood derby race, broomball, rocket day, and many more. In fact, the first Pack events kick off in September with a canoe outing in the Skokie Lagoons followed by an overnight campout that night at Crow Island Woods here in Winnetka. Register now, and you and your son are welcome to join us.
Parental Involvement: All interested parents are invited to attend any den or Pack meeting. We stress parental involvement in Pack 21 - the only reason we have the program that we have is because of parents caring enough to make everything work. We rely on everyone pitching in to keep everything going strong. If you can volunteer to assist in our activities that would be great. Just let us know what you can do, and we’ll gladly use the help you can give. We all want the best for the boys in the Pack. Once registered with the Pack you can sign up for various events through our web site.
How to Register: Get involved and find out how much fun you will have learning and exploring the world with your son in Cub Scouting! If you are interested in joining Pack 21, please return the youth registration form and contact our Pack.
Contact for More Information: If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Pack at hwcubscoutspack21@gmail.com. Please visit our web site at www.hwpack21.scoutlander.com for more information.
