Welcome!

Newark Cub Scout Pack 4 is sponsored by John Clem Elementary School. We hold our regular meetings at the First United Methodist Church, 88 N. Fifth Street. Want to contact us? Please email the Cubmaster, Jeff Keinath

We offer a fun, exciting and rewarding scouting experience to youths in grades one through five, with a special emphasis on character development, spiritual growth, citizenship and family. Scouts advance in rank each year, beginning with the entry level Tiger Cubs in first grade, and continuing through the Arrow of Light, WEBELOS II Scouts in fifth grade. Upon completion of the Cub Scout program, we encourage our Scouts to continue the fun, adventure and development by crossing over into a Boy Scout Troop.

We hope each of our Scouts will continue to advance in the Scouting program, not because of the badge of rank they will earn, but because of what they will learn about themselves, their families, others, God and their country.

Purposes of Cub Scouting

  1. Influence the development of character and encourage spiritual growth;
  2. Develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship;
  3. Encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body;
  4. Improve understanding within the family;
  5. Strengthen the ability to get along with and to respect others;
  6. Foster a sense of personal achievement by developing new interest and skills;
  7. Show how to be helpful and to do one’s best;
  8. Provide fun and exciting new things to do;
  9. Prepare Cubs to become Boy Scouts.

Parent involvement is a crucial part of your youth's scouting experience.

What do we ask from our Parents?

  • Participate actively with your youth in the Scouting program.
  • Consider serving as a member in the Pack committees and planning groups.
  • Attend and Lead Den meetings and Pack Events with your youth.
  • Discuss your youth's Scouting progress with him.
  • Encourage your Scout to always do their best.
