GIRL SCOUTS 2012-2013

Greetings to All,

I know everyone is getting back into the groove of things and working out the kinks in their daily schedule. I hope that everyone is geared and ready to go for our up coming school year. This year our Scout Lander page will serve as our main means of communication as far as all troop and unit activities. I attended our first Leader meeting this week and we have a great deal going on that would benefit our girls. I have titled all information appropriately on the left hand side of the home page. Please read through this information. We have made some minor changes to our meeting schedule. Our troop meetings tentative schedule is set to take place biweekly on Monday’s. Please keep in mind that this schedule is tentative (I’m still waiting on approval of our meeting room).

Last year was an experience not only for the girls, but adults as well. I hope that last year’s experiences will help build the foundation for a more organized and effectively ran troop with the girls being our first priority. All of the forms that were filled out last year will need to be completed again, such as medical, emergency info, volunteer form etc. Our first meeting will take place on August 27th at 6:30 pm (the time can be changed, I’m flexible). I would like all parents to take an active role in our troop meetings. As it stands I do not have a Co-Leader, I welcome any parent that would like to join me in leading our girls. If we start this season without a Co-Leader, parents will have to share the responsibility of running two meetings each this school year ( this calculation is not set in stone as we might be getting new girls and this responsibility will be distributed appropriately. I will provide all supplies needed for the activity has well as any lesson plan our Girl Scout book that may be needed to complete the activity. I’m welcome to any ideas or suggestions to make this Girl Scout season great! Again, please make sure to read through the information on the website and call or email me with any questions.
