Venturing Crew 597, Northwoods UMC, Jacksonville,
Ready for some FUN? Our crew has many interests from outdoors activities to Music and the Arts. Come join us! Meetings are on the first and third Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm.
We meet in the Annex building of
Northwoods United Methodist Church
located at 1528 Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville NC 28540 (Across from Jacksonville High School).
What is Venturing?
Venturing is a coed branch of Boy Scouts of America once known as "Explorers." Explorers still exists, but has a differ
ent twist-they focus on various Carreer specialties. Venturing on the other hand is a combination of high adventure and service to others. Venturing is a youth lead organization - the youth who make up the Crew set their own agenda as well as doing much of the planning for the outings they choose to go on. Venturing, which includes Sea Scouts, is open to young adults who are 13 and have completed the 8th grade or 14 through their 21st birthday.
