Troop 31 Connersville, IN

Welcome to Troop 31's Public Web Site. Troop 31 has a long and proud tradition of scouting in our community. Originally chartered back in 1935, Troop 31 has a total of 44 operating years. The Troop was moved to the Everton area in 1974 and was rechartered back in 1983 by Scoutmaster Bud Blakenship or as his scouts called him, Mr. B. He along with his wife Anita (mom) started many boys down the Trail to Eagle. Troop 31 has seen many earn the rank of Eagle but somewhere down the path the trail became dim and it had to fold for awhile. But as with any fire, it's not out, until it's out cold! Troop 31's fire has never been out cold and it's beginning to smolder once again. The flames of Scout Spirit that once burned are beginning to catch again. We invite you to keep watch on our web site for once again, as we grow, the flames of Troop 31 will be blazing with the mystic fire and tradition that scouting has to offer.

Vison Statement

Our vision for Troop 31 is to bring everything that the Boy Scout Program has to offer to the youth of our community. We will pride ourselves in a quality adventure program that draws and keeps the interest of boys by changing and positively impacting their life with opportunities they may not of otherwise had.

Troop 31's Webelos to Scout Transition Program

Overall purpose: To decrease the number of boys who earn their arrow of light but do not go on into Boy Scouts. We believe the primary reason for this loss is because the parents and the boys are intimidated by the Boy Scout program. We believe if we improve the relationship building of the Troop leadership with the packs; the troop leaders get to know the boys and the parents BEFORE the crossover. That this will help cushion the difference of cubs and boy scouts to show that we are one program that works together for the betterment of the boy and this will keep them involved in the Boy Scout program.
