Welcome to Pack 550

Pack 550 belongs to the Sycamore District of the Blackhawk Area Council.  We serve 1st to 5th grade boys of Crystal Lake and the surrounding communities.  Pack 550 is open to boys of all faiths.  Most Cub Scouts join the year that they will be entering first grade, but boys are welcome to join at any age.

We are here because families like yours value what Cub Scouting offers: Leadership, community, family, character development, and personal fitness. Scouts learn how to be good citizens, have respectful relationships, build self-confidence through achievement, explore through fun and adventure, prepare for Boy Scouts and much, much more. Pack 550 is dedicated to providing the best program for the scouts and their entire family.

Scouts and their families participate in many activities throughout the year including family campouts, bowling, sledding, hiking, skating, mini-golf, baseball games, water-park outings, museum overnights, and more.

Between August and February, Cub Scouts work towards rank advancement: Tigers (1st Grade), Wolves (2nd Grade), Bears (3rd Grade), Webelos I (4th Grade), and Webelos II (5th Grade). During Spring and Summer, dens select their topics of interest from the Academic and Sports Program and various electives offered. All year round, scouts enjoy fun activities like sleepovers on a submarine, pinewood derby races, camp-outs, hikes, parades, go-and-see events and more.  We have many scouts who are active in football, basketball and baseball at various times during the year.  Scouting is flexible, and can usually be scheduled in with the interests of our boys.

We are a small, but very active Pack and welcome new scouts and their families. We have a great thing going and would love for you to be a part of it! The time you invest in your son today will make a difference in the person he becomes tomorrow. Give your son a valuable gift by encouraging him to join Cub Scouting today.

If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please e-mail us via the "Contact Our Pack" link at the top of the page.

Thanks again for stopping by. We hope to hear from you soon.
