Cub Scout Pack 701 – Bangkok, Thailand (International School of Bangkok)
Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through
Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys who
are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of
age). The Cub Scouts accepts all nationalities and focuses on developing
strong character, international citizenship and personal fitness.
Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the
purposes of Cub Scouting. The boys join a Cub Scout Pack and are
assigned to a Den of about 8 boys in their grade.
Den meetings are fun activities that are scheduled by the Den Leader —
usually one or two a month. Once a month, usually the first Tuesday
evening, all of the Dens and family members gather for a Pack meeting
under the direction of a Cubmaster to recognize individual and Den
achievements. The Pack has many events throughout the year such as a
Family Picnic, Day Camps, Family Campout weekend, Raingutter Regatta,
Pinewood Derby and Rocket Day.
Any boy in first through fifth grade can join Scouting at any time
during the year, but most new boys sign up in August. Our upcoming
events to provide opportunities to learn more, register your son, and
get started in Scouting are:
- August 18, 2012 – Community Activities Day, 9:00am to Noon, Elementary School (ES) Cafeteria
- August 22, 2012 – Parent Information Night, 7:00 to 8:00pm, Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) 2&3, NOTE: This is a parent-only event.
- September 4, 2012 – First Pack Meeting, 6:00 to 7:00pm, Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) 2&3
