About the Troop

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the Nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

To date, Troop 941 has generated 35 Eagle Scouts since 1987.

Troop 941 is an average size troop, ranging from 15 to 25 Scouts which is an advantage for the Scouts.  This small to average size allows for individual attention to be paid to each Scout, much the same as having a small class in school.  We can work with each Scout to achieve his goals and have fun along the way.

When We Meet

The Troop holds a meeting at Fulshear First United Methodist Church (8201 Harris Street Fulshear TX 77441). We meet the first three Mondays of each month at 19:30 and have a patrol leaders council on the fourth Monday.

Camping and Activities

The Troop goes to different campsites at various travel distances. We visit local state parks but also have gone to places like Enchanted Rock, Lake Somerville, Galveston, Lake Travis (where we went zip-lining), and others. For summer camp we have also gone to different camps including some out-of-state camps like San Isabel Scout Ranch in Colorado and Kia Kima in Arkansas. We plan to go to more out-of-state summer camps in the future. During the summer camps the older boys often participate in the various adventure programs and the younger ones participate in the merit badge program. For activities we have done things like go-kart racing, kayaking on the Colorado River, rock climbing, and many others.
