Welcome!!

Pack 118 is a community pack located here in Nampa ID. We meet Tuesdays at 6:30pm at the Nampa First Christian Church

Dear Parents –

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to encourage your son to join Cub Scouts.  For over 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.  Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910.  Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.  Through the Cub Scout program, the Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities that allow then to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards; among other things.

While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community. Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals.  It is communicated to them that those in the Scouting family care about what happens to them, regardless of whether a game is won or lost.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem.  As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made. With over 104 million scouts since its inception, studies have been done as to the impact it truly has on these boys lives, over 80% of junior and senior class presidents, 71% of football captain, 88% of newspaper editors, 64% of Air Force graduates, 85% of FBI agents, and 26% of astronauts all were involved in scouting.

We are fortunate here at the Nampa First Christian Church to have a wonderful group of parents who have chosen to participate with their sons in our Cub Scouting program, and always welcome those who want to be involved in various leader and committee positions.  We meet Tuesdays at 6:30 pm at the Nampa First Christian Church, 619 12th Avenue S, Nampa, ID.  We welcome those who are in the Kindergarten through the 5th grade, as well as those who have reached the age of 5 by Sept. 15th of the year they wish to join. I would be glad to share more information about our exciting program with you.  Please feel free to use the contact tab on this page or you can email, call/text me with any questions or to find out how to join.

Yours in Scouting,

Andrea Beck- Cub Master
