Welcome to Pack 356

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

What We're About

Our goal is to provide a quality family program for the youth members and their parents to foster and encourage the ideals and values upon which the Boy Scout program is based.

Boys age 6-10 (grades 1-5) are cub scouts. He will be placed in a den of similar age/grade boys.

  • Tiger Dens (1st grade or 6 years old),
  • Wolf Dens (2nd grade or 7 years old),
  • Bear Dens (3rd grade or 8 years old),
  • First year Webelos Dens (4th grade or 9 years old) and
  • Second year Webelos Dens (5th grade or 10 years old).
Dens are usually composed of 6-8 boys, although the number can vary. Each Den has an adult Leader and an adult Assistant Leader. Leaders are usually a parent of one of the boys in the Den. Anyone meeting the National criteria can be a Leader and the Pack will provide all the training and assistance necessary to help new leaders with their programs.

Besides our monthly Pack Meetings, the Dens meet weekly (except when there is a pack meeting that week) to work on advancement requirements, crafts, games, skit or program preparation or to take a field trip.
