Cascade Pacific Council, Cub Scout Pack 260

Cub Scout Pack 260 is a Community Pack that is chartered by Rock Creek Christian Center and meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. We welcome boys grades 1st - 5th and from all walks of life. We maintain a very active calendar of activities that will appeal to every Scout's imagination. We draw our Scouts from Orenco, Quatama, West Union and Lenox Elementary schools, and Home Schooled boys from Washington County Oregon.

So what makes Pack 260 stand out from the rest?
  • We meet weekly.
  • We use a Scout Account system to offset the cost of Cub Scouting.
  • We have over a dozen completely trained BSA registered adults.
  • We schedule over a dozen off site activities a year.
  • We keep advancement tracking with Scout Tracks online software.
  • We send over 80% of Cub Scouts to BSA Summer Camps.
  • We have a dynamic relationship with several Boy Scout Troops, including Troop 240 of  the United Methodist Church and Troop 225 of Reedville Presbyterian Church.
  • We schedule and work with American Heritage Girls Troop # 1603, several community service projects a year.

Purpose of Cub Scouting

Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to
have the boys doing things.

Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the Den and Pack. The most important are the weekly Den meetings and the monthly Pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

The Boy Scout Oath and Law

Boy Scout Oath:

On my honor, I will do my best.

To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;

To help other people at all times;

To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

The Scout Law:

Scout is
trustworthy,
loyal,
helpful,
friendly,
courteous,
kind,
obedient,
cheerful,
thrifty,
brave,
clean,
and reverent.
