| | | We had a wonderful Thanksgiving camp out with Arrow of Light scouts. Cooking a turkey outside was a great expertinence and the turkey was delicious! We all had a lot of fun! Scouting for Food was also part of our weekend. We look forward to more fun adventures together. :) Eagle Scout Projects - Our scouts enhance our community! Nathan's project was to build two benches for St. Peter. Trevor's project was for the Lake St. Clair Metropark Nature Center project building 6 benches. Stephen lead the project building a book case for the Clinton Macomb Public Library. Matt lead the project installing a fence near the soccer field at Immanuel. Brandon lead the project installed a fence at a Metropark. Cory lead the project for L'Anse Creuse High School building a shelving unit for the school store. Chad lead the compost bin project at Immanuel. William lead a project building a bookcase for St. Peter Lutheran Church. Robbie lead the project installing shelving for the pantry. Activity Pin College 2014. This was our 10th annual event which is an opportunity for WEBELOS to earn activity badges. This year we offered Artist, Forester, Geologist and handyman. Thank you WEBELOS, parents and leaders for joining us. Court of Honor 2015 This is an event to honor our scouts for all they have achieved and all they are now capable of doing. It is great to share our ceremony with WEBELOS. Thank you for participating in our flag ceremony too. Bowling FUNraiser Location - Sterling Lanes We bowled two games enjoyed two pieces of pizza. The scouts, WEBELOS and parents who attended had tons of fun! Troop Lenten dinner and fundraiser - We fed many people and displayed excellent teamwork! Our newest crossover scouts were in attendance and showed great scout spirit as they helped host this dinner. We have an awesome scout family! Gym sleepover - The boys always have fun at a gym sleepover. It is a great opportunity to play games, have fun and expend some energy! Camping - Lincoln Pilgrimage and cabin camp. This year we had a good snowfall just before the weekend which made the sledding and snow play even more fun! Thanksgiving Campout. - We enjoyed our second annual Thanksgiving Campout! The food was awesome! We also conducted a flag retirement ceremony after our meal. The word reverent describes this ceremony. Scouting for Food - We help our community by collecting food for the local food pantry. One day we distributed the food bags. The following weekend we picked up the food that people donated. We worked with a Cub Scout pack doing this worthwhile activity. Teamwork! Fall Camporee - this camp was held at Stony Creek. There were many activities available at this District event. For doing so well, we won the CHIPPY BALL! Congratulations to all the scouts and scouters! We get to keep the CHIPPY BALL until the next district Camporee which is scheduled for the fall of 2014. Great job team! We are awesome! We camped at Rotary Park and did some stargazing! Summer Camps - Fun and adventure! One camp was held at Owasippi on the west side of Michigan. Our scouts had good weather, good fun and they earned many merit badges. Another camp was held at Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. This group experienced high adventure including white-water rafting, white-water canoeing, a high C.O.P.E.S course and a low C.O.P.E.S. course. These adventurous scouts have memories to last a lifetime! Cole Canoe - We went to Cole Canoe with the intention of canoeing. However, the water level on the river was 3 feet higher than average and the water was moving too fast to be safe. Our capable scouts decided to take a hike instead. Along the hike we saw white water rapids in the river! Wow! The hike worked well and some scouts even completed items needed for advancement! Tiger baseball. "Take me out to the ball game..." Many scout families enjoyed Father's Day at Comerica Park watching the Tigers. There was a delay in the game due to some rain, but our "prepared" scouts were ready. Dorchester Camp - Troop 391 participated in the DIBC - Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee near London, Ontario. All who participated had a fantastic time! The scouts participated in over 50 events! It was both busy and fun. Scouts earned the swimming merit badge and the lifesaving merit badge. WEBELOS meeting - We offered special meetings where the boys custom designed neckerchief slides and had the opportunity to punch in designs and stain the leather. Cookies were made in box ovens. The scouts lashed together a catapult. To be ready for camp, the boys made fire starters. Alpena Camp - Aviation Merit Badge What a weekend! Aviation Merit Badge activities - control tower... The group played laser tag too! Troop Lenten Dinner Fundraiser - We fed many people and displayed excellent teamwork! Great job! Scout Sunday - February Camping - Lincoln Pilgrimage, cabin camp in February. Sledding too! Red Wing Hockey Game Gym Sleepover - This was a great opportunity to play many games in the gym. All the participants had a great time while they had fun. Camping. We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner at camp complete with a delicious turkey with all the fixings. It was awesome! William's Eagle Project. This was an active time for all the scouts who assisted William. There was a bottle drive and a day of building. The bookshelves look really good! Good job scouts. Gym Sleepover. The boys had a very active night playing games and in the morning, they enjoyed a pancake breakfast. Red Wing Scout sleepover. The scouts watched the Red Wings take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. After the game, the scouts watched a movie on the big screen and enjoyed a snack. Sleeping at Joe Louis Arena is a unique opportunity and experience. Fun! Merit Badge Mania Bowling Gym sleepover Camp-Caseville The scouts earned the Polar Bear award Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers Football game The Lions won! After the game we were able to go on the field. All the scouts received a football and had a chance to run into the end zone at Ford Field. What an opportunity! Nov 10 Scouting For Food - drop off and pick up. We, and other scouts, collected 30,900 pounds of food. This means 30,900 meals are available to Macomb County residents who need the food. Oct 10 Activity Pin College. Troop 391 helped 45 Webelos earn 125 Awards! Sep 10 Fundraiser Camp - Centennial Rendezvous This camp trip celebrated the Boy Scouts 100th anniversary.
