Troop 439 is an older and active Boy Scout Troops in Marion county, and has been chartered by First Christian Church men's fellowship since 1969. Troop 439 is part of the Marion District of the North Florida Council and subscribes fully to the Rules and Regulations of the Guide to Safe Scouting and National Council and the North Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA)
Troop 439 provides a full Scouting experience; including regular troop and patrol meeting with a well rounded advancement program, well rounded outdoor program including weekend tent camping 10 months each year, annual attendance at a BSA Summer Camp out side the state of FL, and service projects to the community. Outdoor activities include backpacking, canoeing and hiking.
