Why Join Scouting?
Lord Baden Powell - the founder of the Boy Scouts of America - once said "Scouting is fun with a purpose." Scouting helps boys learn skills they will use throughout the rest of their lives.
In 1930, the Boy Scouts of America created a new opportunity called Cub Scouting, for boys younger than Boy Scout age. Cub Scouting is open to scouts from the 1st to 5th grade and is a year-round, home-centered program. Cub Scouting emphasizes involvement between boys and their parents, adult leaders, community, and friends. Cub Scouting provides the building blocks for young boys to grow into young men.
