WEBELOS SCOUT

WE'll BE LOyal Scouts

The boy becomes a Webelos Scout upon graduation from the Bear. Boys new to Cub Scouting can become Webelos if they are 10 years old or have completed third grade, and have earned the Bobcat badge.

The Webelos badge is the fifth rank in Cub Scouting (coming after Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear.) To earn the Webelos badge you must be active in your den for at least 3 months and complete the requirements. You'll be proud to earn the Webelos rank and receive your badge at a pack meeting. After the Scout earns the Webelos Badge he begins working on the highest rank in Cub Scouting, the Arrow of Light Award. Earning this rank prepares a Webelos Scout to become a Boy Scout.

One of the differences between Webelos and younger Cub Scouts is that the Webelos Den Leader signs off the completed activities of a Webelos Scout.

Webelos Rank Requirements

For boys who are in Fourth Grade and/or are 10 years old.

If the Cub Scout has not previously earned the Bobcat Badge, it must be earned first

1. Be an active member of your Webelos den for three months. (Being active means having good attendance, paying your den
   dues, and working on den projects.)

2. Complete each of the following Webelos required adventures with your den or family:
   a. Cast Iron Chef
   b. Duty to God and You
    c. First Responder
    d. Stronger, Faster, Higher
   e. Webelos Walkabout

3. Complete two Webelos elective adventures of your den or family’s choosing.

4. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse:
   A Parent’s Guide, and earn the Cyber Chip award for your age.*

*If your family does not have Internet access at home AND you do not have ready Internet access at school or another public place or via a mobile device, the Cyber Chip portion of this requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian.
