Scouting for Food  Fall Service Project - Scouting for Food

“Scouting for Food” is Scouting’s community stewardship project aimed at addressing the problem of hunger in the community in which we live and work.

Scouting for Food is a food collection effort carried out by Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Cub Scouts from our community. In Novi, the food drive is organized by Boy Scout Troop 407 and supported by Boy Scout Troop 54, Cub Scout Pack 239, Cub Scout Pack 240, Cub Scout Pack 50 and Cub Scout Pack 54.  For this effort, which is held the first 2 Saturday's in November, Scouts distribute food drive donation requests (flyers, notes, and/or bags) throughout a designated area and then return to collect plastic grocery bags filled with donated food. The bags are collected and carried to local food pantries at Faith Community Presbyterian Church and St. James Catholic Church.  All food collected stays in Novi and is distributed to those in need in our area.

Scouting for Food is a project rooted in the very foundation of the Scouting movement. Through initiative and hard work, the Boy Scouts have developed a framework that can help local food pantries feed tens of thousands of needy local residents with emergency aid. While the Scouts work very hard to coordinate and carry-out this project, it is up to the people of Novi to make Scouting for Food a success.  We'd like to thank the residents who have been very supportive of this project   See full size image

Winter Service Project - U.S Marine Corps Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots is the Marine Corps’ premier community action program, one of the nation’s flagship charitable endeavors, and American tradition and a national treasure.  For over half a century, Marines have been the unchallenged leaders in looking after needy children at Christmas.  The Toys for Tots message of hope for the future has motivated youngsters to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.  Toys for Tots has earned the distinction as a program which plays an important role in helping youngsters emerge from a background of poverty to adulthood as assets to society.  Toys for Tots not only benefits children, but also has a positive impact on communities, on businesses – large and small, on the Marine Corps and on the nation.  Toys for Tots is one vehicle for addressing the issue of poverty among children.  Pack 239 is proud to support the Toys for Tots program.  Every December, our Pack collects unwrapped gifs and donates them to the local U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

Spring Service Project - Earth Day Community Conservation

The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual Cub Scouts to "think globally" and "act locally" to preserve and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources and that we are interdependent with our world environment.
