Hocking Hills Canoe Trip - May 23-25, 2014

We had a memorable weekend canoe trip at Hocking Hills, Ohio. The weather was perfect - 76° and clear sunny skies! Quite a change from our normal campout weather!

Brownsea (New Scout) Campout

Daniels Park Willoughby, Ohio April 25-27, 2014

This is the first campout for our new scouts where we teach them many of the basic T-2-1 skills and introduce them to the Boy Scout camping experience in a local park.

Haunted Hayride

We joined the lake metro parks at the farm-park for some scary fun.  We hid along a trail and in a wagon and got to scare people.  We got some service hours for our fun, so it was a win win for everybody, us and the vistiors

Webelos Woods

We traveled out to Stigwandish to help out some cub scout.  We made an obstacle course that was really fun.  We had a great time, and will hopefully be going back next year.

Roaming Shores Camping September 13-15, 2013

The troop had a great time at Roaming Rock Shores Lake in eastern Ohio. We camped at a lakehouse, took a boat tour of the shoreline houses, and had great fun tubing and spending time on the water despite the temperature! We cooked "banana boats" for dessert on Friday, scrambled eggs and hash browns for breakfast, fajitas for lunch, and grilled chicken with baked potatoes and salad for dinner on Saturday. On Sunday morning we ate oatmeal leftover from the Minister creek trip (and some more fajitas!).

A special thanks to the G. family for their hospitality!

Summer Camp at Beaumont Scout Reservation, June 23

We spent the week attending Scout camp at Beaumont Reservation near Rock Creek, Ohio. It is operated by the Greater Cleveland Council and is about 40 miles east of Cleveland. Our group of ~28 scouts earned a ton of merit badges including swimming, first aid, archery, rifle shooting, climbing, canoeing, and camping among others. We cooked our own meals and had a great time. We’re looking forward to going back next year!

Minister Creek Hiking Trip May 24-26, 2013

The troop drove out to Western PA and enjoyed a wonderful 2  days at Minister Creek and Triple Fork Campground. The weather was beautiful and the scenery excellent as usual for this 6.6-mile loop hike.
