The Chartered Organization is responsible for providing adequate meeting facilities, quality leadership for the Scouting unit, and appointing a representative to coordinate all Scouting unit operations within the organization.

Every Pack is under the supervision of a Pack Committee which consists of at least three members (Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer).  Additional positions include Advancement Chair, Public Relations Chair, Outdoor Activity Chair, Membership and Reregistration Chair, Friends of Scouting Chair, and Popcorn Kernel.  By handling administrative and support tasks, the Pack Committee allows the Cubmaster, Den Leaders, and their assistants to focus on working directly with the Cub Scouts.

As a program for the entire Family, Cub Scouting can help families teach their children a wholesome system of values and beliefs while building and strengthening relationships among family members.  Parental involvement is vital to the success of the local program.

The Pack is a group of several dens sponsored by the Chartered Organization and supervised by the Pack Committee.  The Pack includes not only the boys in those dens, but also their families and their leaders.  The Pack meets once a month with Cub Scouts, leaders, parents, and other family members attending.  The Pack Meeting is the climax of the month's den meetings and activities.  It gives the dens something to look forward to and to work toward.  It also provides opportunities to recognize the boys, their parents, and their leaders.  The Pack also sponsors special projects and events, such as holiday gift and food drives, service projects, community events such as parades, and, of course, the Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, and Blue & Gold Banquet.

The Pack is divided into small groups of boys called Dens.  Dens usually meet weekly under the direction of trained adult Den Leaders who, in some cases, are assisted by Boy Scout Den Chiefs.  Dens allow boys to know each other better and engage in activities that larger groups cannot foster.  Den meetings are usually planned around monthly themes that include games, crafts, hikes, and other outdoor fun.
