Could you tell me a little more about Cub Scouting.
Your Cub Scout will be a Member of a den. Most dens have six to eight boys of the same age and meet twice a month building new things and having fun for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Den meetings are time for leadership and character skills, going places, building new things and having fun. Dens are led by a team of adult volunteers- the den leader and assistant den leader are usually parents of boys in the den. Your Cub Scout is also a member of a Pack. Packs are made up of several dens and meet once a month. Our Pack Meetings promotes the good accomplishments they scouts have earned during the month, and are engage in fun activities.
How the organization is set up.
Pack 36 is sponsored by The Foster and Adoptive Family Association. We belong to the Boys Scouts of America Blue Grass Council as part of the Elkhorn District.
How do I know what rank my son will be?
It is based on your sons school grade.
1st Grade = Tiger
2nd Grade = Wolf
3rd Grade = Bear
4th Grade = Webelos 1
5th Grade = Webelos 2
Are there uniform requirements?
Tiger, Wolf and Bear wear official long-or short-sleeved dark blue shirts, that has a gold “ Boy Scouts of America” lettering over the front right pocket. ( Additional insignia to be sewn on the shirt in their proper places). These boys will also be wearing an official Cub Scout Cap, Belt, Neckerchief Slide and Neckerchief. Webelos Scouts may chose to wear either the blue or tan uniform, but strongly recommended they purchase the tan shirt, since they can wear it in Boy Scouts too. Webelos Scouts are required to wear the official Webelos Cap, Bet, Neckerchief Slide and Neckerchief. All ranks are NOT required to wear official trousers or shorts. All boys will need to purchase their own book in the rank they are working on. They will bring these books to every Den Meeting.
