About Us

Cub Scout Pack 308 is located in Prospect, Kentucky. We are part of the Seneca District, which is part of the Boy Scouts of America's Lincoln Heritage Council. Our charter organization is St. Bernadette Catholic Church. The church also sponsors our affiliated Boy Scout troop, Troop 308.

Although most attend St. Mary Academy and/or St. Bernadette, it's not required. We have boys who are members from other churches and schools. All are welcome. Any boy from 1st through 5th grade is eligible to join.

Where we Meet:
For Pack Meetings, we meet in the Soubirous Room in the St. Bernadette Parish Center, next to St. Mary Academy in Norton Commons. We meet once a month at 7 p.m. (usually on the third Wednesday of the month).

Den Meetings:
Den meeting times and places are scheduled by your son's den leader. they may vary depending on the activity.

Other Events:
District, Council and extra pack event average once or twice a month.

Our pack meetings follow the local school calendar. So while there are still planned pack activities during the summer months, there are no official pack meetings. They begin when the boys return to school.

How much:
A good scout is thrifty. So we keep our dues as affordable as possible. Currently we charge $75 a year. Of that $65, $27 goes to the local BSA council and the rest of it remains with the pack. The portion that remains with the pack -- as well as money raised during a popcorn sale and a bake sale -- is used to pay for our annual Blue and Gold banquet, refreshments during our Pinewood Derby, and other pack expenses throughout the year.

We try to be good stewards of our pack's money. And considering that each boy also receives a subscription to Boy's Life magazine, we feel $75 is a great bargain for a year of fun and educational activities.
Occasionally, there are additional small fees ($5-$15) to participate in events like camping trips.

Activities:
Scout events are family events and all members of your family are welcome.
We usually have a Fall and Spring Camp Out. We have Scouts Lock-in where stay overnight indoors and a have number of activities for the scouts.
Your scout can also participate in Resident camps during the summer at any of the Boy Scout Reservation. They are a great opportunity for scouts to earn awards, recognition, make friends, and prepare for Boy Scouts.

Other activities include:
Community Service Projects (Scouting for Food, Memorial Day Flag Placement, Color Guard on Fourth July Parade)
Haunted Woods (October)
Pinewood Derby (January)
Harlem Globetrotters (January)
TV Station Visit
Firehouse Tour
Religious Awards
Hiking
