Public Patches-Individual - Girl Scout Troop 10088 (Chester, Vermont)

Patches are different than badges. Badges are earned with your group (Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadets) as part of your Journey through the Girl Scout world. Patches can be earned with your group but can also be earned by Girl Scouts on their own at an individual pace. Our troop has a Volunteer Mom who is available to help and guide you through the Patch Program.

The GSGWM patch programs were developed by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains with patch requirements and activity suggestions for troops, groups or individual girls. We have dedicated volunteers to help our girls achieve these goals. See the member log in site for more info. You can download and print the patch programs packets by clicking on the program name.

All of these programs have patches, and some even have add-on mini patches so they can be done year after year!

Jump to Journeys Patch

The Jump to Journeys patch is designed to give you, as the leader/advisor of a troop/group, a taste of the activities offered in the journeys for the grade level you are working with. By doing the activities and earning this patch with your troop/group you and the girls will have the information you need to decide which journey to dive into.
Be Your Best

All levels

This patch program will help you “Be Your Best” while you Discover, Connect and Take Action to help an organization that helps others (i.e. animal shelters, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, nursing homes, etc.) Plan your own activities to bring out the best in each of you.
Building Possibilities

Discover how engineering can be an awesome career field choice.
Cabot Calcium Challenge

The 3-A-Day Calcium Challenge Patch program encourages Girl Scouts to learn about the importance of calcium in a healthy diet.
Co-ops for Community

Interested in this program, sponsored by Cabot Creamery and the National Business Cooperative Association? Troops/girls can either go to City Market Onion River Co-op or they have the option of sending someone to your troop!! If the conference room is available they are more than willing to let troops use that space to work on some of the other patch requirements. They would prefer two weeks notice in order to accommodate troops/girls in the best way possible.
Apple Quest

This patch will encourage girls to discover the importance of apples in our lives, connect to local farmers and orchards and take action by finding ways we can make a difference in our community with what girls learn.
Maple Sugaring

The sugaring season is a wonderful part of Vermont and New Hampshire culture. Complete activities to explore the history of maple sugaring and find out the secrets to making the “sweet stuff”!
Operation Snowflake

All Levels

Learn about the effects of cold temperatures and snow, especially in New England, as you choose and complete activities to earn this fun winter patch. Girls earning this patch for the first time, earn the large patch and their first snowflake. Girls can complete new activities and continue to add snowflakes to their large patch year after year.
Flat Juliette

The Flat Juliette program is a digital scrapbook program that promotes international literacy and friendship. It is based on the Flat Stanley/Stacie projects, started by a school teacher.

In the Flat Stanley/Stacie book, Stanley/Stacie get flattened while sleeping one night by a bulletin board. They are very surprised when they wake up and find they are flat! Their parents try and think positively about this change and tell them, they can visit anyone and anywhere because they fit in an envelope and its cheap to mail!
