Advantages of the Boy Scouting Program

Through Boy Scouting, the activities that Troop 4628 participates in encourages boys ages 11-17 to:

    • Learn leadership
    • Understand citizenship
    • Encourage community involvement
    • Take responsibility
    • Respect nature
    • Help others
    • Make friends
    • Build self-confidence
    • Continually learn

If you are interested in joining Boy Scouts, we would encourage you to visit several troops and find one you like the best.  Troop 4628 meets on Monday's at Grace's Episcopal Church on Route 75 in New Market, Maryland.  Our meetings go from 7:00 until 8:30.  In general, the activities we enjoy doing as a troop are camping, building and launching rockets, putt putt, ping pong, bowling, snow tubing, and many more!

Our adult leadership has a long history in Boy Scouts.  Many of us are merit badge counselors ourselves, but we also have access to many other merit badge counselors because of our vast scout connections.
