Suggestions for being out

When planning to go on an outing where there will be walking, playing, hiking, or other activity,  keep in mind to always be prepared.

It is recommended to take a light bag or pack with:
Bottle water
Snack (trail mix, peanuts, peanut butter sandwich, jerky stick, cereal bars, packaged energy bars, etc)
Bandaids
Antibiotic cream
Bug repellant
Sun screen
Other items depending on event?
A pre-packaged outdoor first aid kit is very handy because it has a variety of items in single packet form and it is compact.  About $15.  It may have things you didn't think about taking like insect bite, stings, and burn cream.  Benadryl is great for bee stings either tablet or topical but not both.

Overnight Camping basics:
Tent- rain resistant, should spray on rain repellant anyway (prior to camping because it stinks).
Tarp for under tent.
Sleeping bag - rated at least 15 degrees colder than the temperature.
Sleep Pad - air mattress and ground are very cold so sleep mat makes a huge difference.
Pillow
Food & Extra food because energy burned is more than usual (prepare and cook items/equipment)
Plenty of water plus extra water.
Chairs.
Warm clothes, thermals pants/shirt, warm coat, stocking hat that can sleep in, gloves.
Spring and fall camping can get unusually extremely cold without notice.  It is usually cooler around wooded area's.
