Pack 859 Information for New & Potential Scouts

Thank you for visiting our site and your interest in our Pack.  Here we have compiled a brief overview of Pack 859 and what we try to achieve.  We wish to give you a sense of the scouting experience for both you and your son.

Pack Structure:  A "Pack" is made up individual dens which are based upon age/grade level. There are four dens Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I, and Webelos II.  In the dens the boys work on age appropriate achievements to obtain badges, belt loops, and pins.  In addition, they develop strong friendships, character, responsibility, citizenship, and fitness.

In our Pack we meet as dens on a weekly basis with a once a month "Pack Meeting" in which the boys are presented with their achievement beads, belt loop, and badges.

Tigers are the beginning level and the youngest in Cub Scouts being comprised generally of 1st grade boys.  Here they work on the most basics of scouting to earn both their BobCat and Tiger badges.  Here they begin getting in touch with the importance of family, good hygene, safety - both personal safety and that of others, and the world around them.

Wolves is the next level.  This level refreshes the boys knowledge from Tigers while expanding their understanding with new activities.  One thing most adults remember from their scouting experience as a child is the tying of knots.  This is where it begins with a couple of basic.  Depending upon your leader this maybe taken a step further.

Bears is obviously the next level generally comprised of third grade boys.
