Snowcapades
On January 24th, the Troop helped to provided staffing for Snowcapades, an annual Cub Scout winter event held at Camp McLoughlin.  The Scouts and leaders monitored sled runs such as Glacier Glide and Avalanche Express. Some boys taught winter survival skills such as fire building as well as first aid skills.  Forrest and Jonathan led groups along a cross-country snowshoe trek.  There was great fun as well as great food for all who attended.

After the cubbies went home, the troop stayed for the remainder of the weekend and participated in some inter-patrol Klondike preparation and instruction.

Have you paid your Troop Dues?

It’s that time of year again for Troop dues to be paid.  For those new scouts, the $10 that you paid when you first joined was for national registration fees.  Each Scout is required to pay monthly dues to the troop of $3 per month ($36 annually).  If the full dues are paid by March 2nd, then the Scout will receive a savings and only pays $30 for the year.  Scouts are encouraged to earn their dues money.  Scouts must be current in their dues to be considered in good standing and able to participate in Scout activities.  Please see Carla to take care of paying your fees or having them deducted from your Scout account.
