Wolves and Bears are the core of any Cub Scout program. Wolves are for second grade boys and third graders are Bears. They no longer need their “adult partner” like the Tigers, but parents are always encouraged to help their scouts through the program whenever necessary.
New scouts need to earn their Bobcat Badge before starting to work toward earning their Wolf or Bear rank badge. Boys only need to earn the badge once, so if was earned as a Tiger they can go ahead and start on their rank requirements.
Wolves have 12 achievements to complete in order to earn their Wolf Badge. These are outlined in the Wolf Handbook. Scouts generally earn the badge halfway through the program year, then move on to optional Electives. For each 10 electives they complete they receive an Arrow Point to display on their uniform.
