Purpose
Affordable, Fun High Adventure and other activities for (boy and girl) scouts to supplement regular scouting events.
Emphasis on Cooperation and Team work where Scouts are 100% responsible for planning and executing all activities.
Leadership and responsibility developed through training, experience and performing public service projects.
Membership
Youth between 14 and 21 years old may be Ventures. Members do not need to be a boy or girl scout of any other type.
Adults (assistant advisors) who are parents of youth members or otherwise approved by the parents committee (parents of registered youth).
All event participants (adult and youth) must be BSA registered (submit a BSA application / pay ~$10 annual registration dues.)
(Registered members of other Troops / Crews do not need to be registered / pay dues to Crew 6 to participate in Crew 6 events).
Leadership
Officers - President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
Trip Captain and Assistant for each event.
Adult Advisor (who is a mentor that provides a credit card and drivers license but does no work) and (Troop 54) Parent Committee.
Uniform
Crew uniform is the "Crew 6" T Shirt or Fleece. All clothing must be respectable and in good repair.
Trip specific or different Annual T shirts are encouraged.
BSA standard uniform (green shirt / gray pants) is not required but may be worn by officers / advisors at recruiting / public events.
Meetings
Typically second Sunday of the Month - 8:00pm Novi First Methodist Church on 10 mile west of Meadowbrook
Annual Planning Once a year to set master calendar and select officers / trip leaders
Monthly Activity planning Teams plan each activity / review and discuss with other members
Outings / Events
All events are "pay as you go". Signed permission slip and payment is required at least 14 days prior to departure
Ventures may participate in fundraising activities to pay for events. All earnings will be kept in "Scout Accounts"
Group Equipment Venturers provide their own equipment for each event

Home Organization support
Ventures are encouraged to remain active in home troop if a member (Boy Scouts / Girl Scouts etc)
Ventures are encouraged to hold a leadership position, either in the crew or the home org for 6 mo of every year
The Crew will attempt to avoid scheduling conflicting events with home organizations
Rules, Toys and other stuff
If it is not street legal, OK at school or OK at Church, it's not OK in Venturers
Knives must not have a blade longer than 5"
Bring whatever electronics you want - but they are not to be used during activities (OK in tents or on drives)
Scouts must follow BSA guidelines and Crew bylaws
