Q1:      If my son has done one of the things that is required for a Scouting achievement, but it was before he became a Scout, can that count toward satisfying that particular requirement?

A1:       Unfortunately it cannot.  In order to satisfy a particular Scouting requirement, it must have been accomplished after the time your son’s Youth Application was submitted along with all associated fees, and while he remained an active Scout.

 

Q2:      My son just joined Cub Scouts, and according to his age, he is a Bear.  Can he just start working on his Bear requirements?

A2:       All Scouts above the rank of Tiger, must first achieve their Bobcat rank, regardless of age, before proceeding on to their appropriate age rank.  The Bobcat trail establishes the basis of Scouting for all future ranks and therefore must be achieved first.
