Camping provides an essential element to scouting. Scouts learn life-long skills, build confidence and self esteem, problem solve and discover the real life applications for many of the rank based skills they are required to know. A rigorous outdoor program is key to any successful scouting program. Troop 311 plans a camping or outdoor activity each month. The activities reflect the interests of the boys in the troop. Some typical activities include bicycling, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, rock climbing, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
