The Bear Scout den is similar to the Wolves. Parents are vital to the Bear den, both in the role of home support and to help the den leader. Your son will be in a group of boys his own age where he can earn status and recognition. This den is made up of boys who are in third grade and are 8 or 9 years old.
They meet weekly and complete 12 of 24 achievements involving simple physical and mental skills in the Bears Handbook. It is more difficult than the Wolf achievements, where some activities will need to be done at home with guidance from Parents.
At the end of the school year, he will graduate into a Webelos I Scout Den.
