I want to Volunteer, but where do I fit in?

You want to Volunteer, but you don't know what role you would fit best.  No worries!  Girl Scouting has many opportunities for you to help girls.  It takes a village to run a troop too.  Everyone working together makes a troop successful.  Some of the roles needed are:

  • Troop Leader
  • Assistant Troop Leader
  • Cookie Mom or Dad or Other Family Member
  • Fall Product Mom or Dad or Other Family Member
  • Driver
  • Treasurer
  • Bank Signer
  • Trip Chaperone
  • Meeting Helper
  • Special Guest / Presenter
  • First Aid Responder
For more information about the needed roles and their requirements, please look at the attached document below this section.  For advice on what role fits you best, feel free to contact your Council Membership Associate.  The GSHPA Member Associate for Community Group 181 is Jordan DeVan.  Her email is jdevan@gshpa.org.  You can also use the "Contact Our Community" link at the top of the page.

Volunteer Recognition

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Girl Scout movement. They give selflessly of their time and talents to help build girls of courage, confidence and character. Whether volunteers work directly or indirectly with girls, the service they give leaves a lasting impression on Girl Scouts and other adult volunteers. They deserve to be recognized for their dedication and service.

Visit the GSHPA website for more information about Volunteer Recognitions, or contact Jordan DeVan, the GSHPA Membership Associate for the Harrisburg Area.  She can be contacted through email at jdevan@gshpa.org.
