Frequently Asked Questions

When and where are the Scout meetings held?
Our Scoutmaster is Mark Wallach.  We meet most Saturdays from 5:45--7 PM at Scout Hall located on St. Columban's campus.

How much are the dues?
2015-16 yearly dues are $98.  Checks are made out to Troop 55.  New Scouts crossover in March and pay 1/2 the amount after crossover.  The fees include a subscription to Boys Life magazine.  Separate fees are collected for things such as camping, food & activities.

Do new Scouts need to complete any forms?
All Scouts & Troop Leaders need to complete a yearly Health & Medical form & submit a copy to Scoutmaster Wallach.  The form must be completed by a Health Care professional.  The Troop also needs a copy of the Scout's insurance form.  We keep a copy on file for Troop use and also send a copy of the form to Summer Camp.  See the "Forms & Checklists" or "Summer Camp" page to download a copy of the form.

When is summer camp?
We try to reserve our camp site for the 4th week in July at Camp Friedlander, for a week of overnight camping & Merit Badge classes.  Please see our "summer camp" section for forms & details on what to bring to camp.  Fees for Summer Camp are collected separately by the Summer Camp Coordinator.

What is a "Class A" uniform?  Where do I place insignia on my uniform?
A full Class “A” uniform includes a BSA Scout shirt (long or short sleeve) with all appropriate insignia, green Scout trousers or shorts, a Scout belt and Scout socks.  A BSA neckerchief with a slide completes the uniform. All items may be purchased at the Dan Beard Council shop in Sharonville.   The Scout shop will also sew any patches on the uniform for a small fee.
Please see the "Forms & Checklists" page to download a copy of the insignia placement guide.
