Basic Campout Information

Troop 332 camps once a month year round.  The only time a camp out is re-scheduled is due to weather that may be dangerous to those camping.  March thru October the Troop camps the entire weekend.  (leave Friday night. return on Sunday by 12) November thru February, the Troop camps on Saturday night.  (leave Saturday morning and return by noon on Sunday)  Our meeting place is Franklin Smith Elementary unless otherwise stated.

Below is a basic list of gear that should be brought on all camp outs.
*sleeping bag
*sleeping pad
*mess kit(unless your patrol has eating gear in your kitchen box)
*Scout book
*compass
*rope
*rain gear
*clothes appropriate for the weather
*extra shoes
*water bottle
*knife
*flashlight/headlamp
*bucket or stool to sit on at campfire (boys may have chair with back if they have achieved the rank of Eagle)
*sack lunch for Saturday
*patrol food for meals

Schedule of Campouts

   

FORT OSAGE CAMPOUT SEPTEMBER 18-20

*must have pre-registered for friday night at Fort.

  • boys meet FSE at 5:00/Return 12 on Sunday.

  • Boys do patrol cooking for Saturday evening and Sunday morning breakfast

  • Camping at Taylor's uncles house Saturday night

  • cost $10 per boy



FAMILY CAMPOUT OCTOBER 9-10-11

  • Landahl Park off Argo Road

  • Boys meet FSE at 5:30/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Families join us for campout on Saturday late morning.

  • Boys do patrol cooking for Saturday morning breakfast

  • Troop provides meat for Saturday dinner, families brings sides/desserts to share and personal drinks

  • Troop provides breakfast Sunday morning

  • Hill climbing, monkey bridge, campfire and fun galore

  • cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult


SUGAR CREEK CAMPGROUND NOV 6-7-8

  • Camp at Sugar Creek by River

  • Boys meet FSE at 5:30/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • scout skills, campfire and fun galore


OMAHA ZOO CAMPOUT DEC 12-13

  • Camp in the aquarium at Omaha Zoo

  • Meet at 6:00 am at FSE/Return 12 on Sunday

  • We will be carpooling and loading all gear into trunks and trucks.

  • MUST PAY BY NOVEMBER 1

  • Cost is $20 (cover campout/merit badge/transportation)

  • Free time at zoo Saturday 10-1:45.  Oceanography merit badge at 2.  campout starts at 6:30pm

  • Dinner out of zoo at 4:30 (Bring personal $$ for dinner)

  • Must bring sack lunch for Saturday to eat in park OR money for buy lunch

  • Breakfast provided by Troop on Sunday.






POSSIBLE SLEDDING CAMPOUT JAN 16-17

  • Landahl- Truman Road

  • Boys meet FSE at 6:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • bring sleds if there is snow


ROTARY PARK CAMPOUT FEBRUARY 20-21

  • Boys meet FSE at 6:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • scout skills, campfire and fun galore


HIKING CAMPOUT MARCH 18-19-20

  • Boys meet FSE at 5:30/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • scout skills, campfire and fun galore

  • Possible overnight hike for 2nd years and above


Knob Noster state park APRIL 22-23-24

  • Boys meet FSE at 5:30/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • Spelunking for boys 14 and over/alternative activities for younger scouts


ORDER OF THE ARROW MAY DATE TBD

  • Camp at Camp Naish

  • Boys meet FSE at 5:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • all food provided at camp

  • If not going thru initiation, alternative activities are available

  • Cost $25 or $35



10 DAY CAMP JUNE DATE TBD

WATKINS MILL CAMPOUT JULY 22-23-24

  • Boys meet FSE at 6:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Cost $5per boy and $10 per adult

  • activities to be determined but the will be FUN


LAKE JACOMO CAMPOUT AUGUST 26-27-28

  • Boys meet FSE at 6:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • activities to be determined but the will be FUN!


SHOOTING CAMPOUT SEPTEMBER 23-24-25

  • Pioneer Gun Club

  • Boys meet FSE at 6:00/Return 12 on Sunday

  • Patrol cooking Saturday/Sunday morning and Saturday night.

  • Sack lunch Saturday

  • Cost $5 per boy and $10 per adult

  • We will be shooting rifles and shotguns (under superivision!)
