What is the Hiking Club?  The Hiking Club is for anyone who wants to go Hiking and enjoy nature. Parents, Scouts, Siblings, the whole family are welcome to come along!  

Cancellation of Hikes?  The only reason to cancel a hike on a given month is due to severe weather.  We will try to let people know in advance if a hike will be cancelled.

What to wear?  Please dress appropriately for the weather.  If it is cold outside then wear plenty of layers to keep warm.  Make sure to have a good pair of shoes or boots to hike in.

What to bring?  We will have a back pack with us at each hike to carry supplies needed for hiking.  First aid kit, compass, flash light, rain ponchos, etc...  You will need to bring water to stay hydrated.

Why?  Because it is fun!  It gets everyone outside to enjoy nature!  We track the total number of miles you walk and the scouts can earn badges for 5, 10, 20, 40, and 50 miles. After 50 miles, Scouts are awarded "X" segments to signify another 10 miles walked. Also,  Scouts get a special 50 mile patch.

So come and hike with us!  Scouts get a Hiking patch just for coming on their first hike.  Get some great exercise and enjoy time with your family in the Great Outdoors!  (If you have a suggestion for a fun nature hike, please let your leader or someone on the committee know!)
