Syosset is a great community and a wonderful place to live. Part of the reason is the many volunteers in the community. Our firefighters, paramedics, team sports coaches, boy scouts, girl scount, cub scouts and scores of other services that we have in our community are available only because of our volunteers.
The many sports teams our sons play on such as soccer, baseball, football and basketball are run by volunteers. People who donate a little part of their time each week to help others. Community involvement is one of the best ways to feel connected to you community.
The Boy Scouts of America relies on volunteers to provide leadership and support to Cub Scout packs.
They also quickly discover that Scout volunteering enables them to learn new skills and build lifelong friendships while having fun.
In addition to the reward of working with youth, through volunteering for scouts you will:
Develop a greater level of pride in your community.
Have the opportunity to demonstrate moral and ethical decisions.
Build a closer bond with your children and other children in your community.
Become a better role model image for youth in your community.
Develop a more personal relationship with God.
