The present database skillport will go down on March 1. After March 1 and until approximately April 14 you will need to contact the helpline, 770-702-9411 or helpline@gsgatl.org in order to register for training.  After April 14 every registered member will be able to go into eBiz and login using the same login 
and password that they have been using for membership. EBiz will now function as a place to find trainings while continuing to be where you can see 
your current troop roster and update troop members, and monitor your personal record
.

Classes for Camporee 2013


For Troops staying in cabins: Need a leader or assistant leader to take Cabins, Lodges and S'mores

Formerly known as Outdoors and S’mores and Cabin Camping, this class is the first step for troops planning troop camping experiences. This class teaches adults the steps to teaching girls how to plan and carry out anovernight experience using indoor facilities (lodges,cabins, etc.) with kitchens and indoor bathrooms at council camps as well as other approved campfacilities. In addition, this course covers health and safety considerations, facilities available at council camps, meal planning, Kaper charts, equipment and packing. Training must be successfully completed at least 30 days prior to a scheduled overnight experience to allow time for training of girls and other adults. This course is considered Level 1 camp training.

3.5 hours Cost: $5.00
Who should attend:
Adult volunteers planning an overnight troop.

 

 

 


For Troops staying in Platform Tents,  Please sign up for Platform Tent Camping with Fire Building and Outdoor Cooking

 

 

Second step for troops planning troop camping experiences and desiring to learn about fire building, outdoor cooking, sleeping in tents (platform or your own) as well as exploring other outdoor skills. Teaches adults how to partner with girls to plan and carry outplatform tent camping experiences, and how to teach a variety of outdoor skills including knot tying, pocket knife safety, hiking and more. Training must be successfully completed at least 30 days prior to a scheduled camping date to allow time for training of girls and other adults. This course is considered Level 2 camp training.

14 hours, this is an overnight class

Who should attend:
Adult volunteers planning to take their troops tent camping overnight
Prerequisite:
Cabins, Lodges and S’mores (must be completed at least 30 days before)
What to bring:
A packing list will be provided

 

 

 

 

 


NEW Classes - REQUIRED


New Leader Basics  - combines new leader training, money mgnt, trips and overnights, and some of grade level basics.  ALL volunteers with approved background checks who are working directly with girls are required to take this 4.5 hour class. 

Proficiency Badges and Journeys(PB&J) - help leaders with new Girl Scout program.  This includes grade level basics, Journeys, and Girls Guide.  This 4 hour class is required for all troop leaders and co leaders when starting a new troop, entering exisiting troop and /or bridging to the next program level.
