What are SWAPs?

Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere OR Shared With A Pin (or Pal)

These are little items created and often designed by the girls to trade with other Girl Scouts.  Almost every gathering of Girl Scouts will have SWAPping!  They are fun ways to interact with other troops, to remember an event, or to make friends from across the world.  At National Convention, our girls traded SWAPs with girls from every corner of the country, and even from other countries.

More SWAP Idea Sites:
  • http://swaps-a-lot.ecrater.com/  (this is a site to buy kits, which is fine, but the girls can also take a look for inspiration)
My favorite way for the girls to get inspired though is to just bring a giant box of crafting supplies and pin backs and let them go to town!  Girls come up with some of the best, most creative SWAPs entirely on their own.
