Hello New Leaders,
This area is to give you information to get you started with Scouting. See below for all the forms that you can use for your den.
Your den should consist of approximatley 9 to 10 Cub Scouts. Each Scouts are required to have an uniform, please see Cub Scout uniform guide. The leader also is required to have a uniform, please see the leader uniform guide.
The den activities are based on the 12 core values in scouting and are as such.
- Citizenship
- Compassion
- Cooperation
- Courage
- Faith
- Health and fitness
- Honesty
- Perserverance
- Positive Attitude
- Resourcefulness
- Respect
- Responsibility
There should also be a Den Code of Conduct. Rules that each Scout should follow when attending a Den and Pack meetings and are such as follows:
- Always be on time. Call your den leader if you are unable to attend a den or a pack meeting.
- Wear your Scout uniform with PRIDE, clean, neat and complete to all Scouting events.
- Listen and pay attention. In response to the "Wolf Ears Signal" silently return the sign.
- Respect one another and your leader. Keep your hands and feet to yourselves. Don't take anything from anyone without first asking permission.
- Show your respect for your surroundings, indoors and out, leaving them in as good or better condition then when they were found.
- Always follow Akela.
- Always "DO YOUR BEST".
These are some of the items that you may use to get started, we will conduct a new leader esstential meeting to get all the information you will need to get your den up and going.
